In July of 1989 Pvt. Cory B. Wride completed his basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he received instructions in drill, ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy and justice, first aid. 1
In a promotion application for the Utah County Sheriff’s office for Sergeant, Cory describes his duties with the Utah Army National Guard. “Responsible for monitoring and interpretation of enemy activity. Preform interviews and interrogations of persons as required. Protection of all classified materials. Physical security coordinator.”2 He also lists his title as Sergeant – Senior Intelligence Analyst with an employment timeframe of May 1989 to January 2000.
On an application for employment to the Utah County Sheriffs office, he listed his training. He listed the 211th Aviation Group (ATK) from April 1989 to October 1989 for the Utah Army National Guard (United States Army) with the note “For training – Intel. Analyst for 5 1/2 years”.3
